Description
Ralph Edmund Stanley was born in McClure, VA on 2-25-1927 & died at age 87 of skin cancer on 6-23-2016. Ralph was drafted into the Army in 1945 and when he returned, he started playing with his brother Carter, and in 1946, they formed the Clinch Mountain Boys. Ralph developed a playing banjo style known has the "Stanley Style" and in 1994 Ralph fall and broke his right hand. Ralph picked up a new banjo player named Steve Sparkman, and he played with the Clinch Mountain Boys until roughly 2010. Carter died in 1966, and Ralph kept the band and set out on his own from 1967 until his death. I do not have a release dates for any of the albums listed below, but all are very gently used and shipped USPS Media Mail.
