Description
Up for sale is “Play Requests” REB SLP 1514, by Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys.
For me, this was recorded during the golden era for Ralph Stanley with Roy Lee Centers singing lead with Ricky Skaggs and Keith Whitley in the band. No offense to all the other fine band members who were part of the Clinch Mountain Boys, they were all good, but this mix is my favorite.
It was recorded at R.D. Homer Associates, Clinton, MD and engineered by Roy Homer for Rebel Records, Mt. Rainier, MD. Recording dates were: Feb 24, 1971; Jun 30, 1971; and Aug 31, 1972.

The record and cover are in near mint condition. It is also autographed by Ralph Stanley. The autograph does not show up well in the pictures, it is in the fence to the left of Ralph, see photo.
This is the first edition RARE cover that was replaced with another cover showing Ralph kneeling down in some grass with some trees in behind him. It was deemed that this cover picture was too dark and needed to be replaced. There are very few of these covers out.
