Description

Topic Records 12T-105, “Roll on Buddy” with Ramblin’ Jack Elliott & Derroll Adams, from the late 1950s.  This s a fairly heavy black-label pressing.  The vinyl plays mostly at NM with a few light pops on one of the opening tracks.  The UK-style jacket has a bit of age-toning but is otherwise in excellent shape with only a catalog number written in magic marker at upper left on the backside. This is one of the very best Jack Elliott LPs and one of the best Elliott-Adams collaborations (admittedly, they’re all good).  Songs are “Rich and Rambling Boys”, “Buffalo Skinners”, “I Wish I Was a Rock”, “Hard, Ain’t It Hard”, “All Around the Water Tank”, “Mother’s not Dead”, “East Virginia”, “The Old Bachelor”, “Danville Girl”, “The State of Arkansas”, “The Death of Mr. Garfield”, and “Roll On Buddy”.  The liner notes are by Alexis Korner.  Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire.  Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra.  Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way.  This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides.  It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket.  More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped.  All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
