Description
For sale is The Ramones' Rocket To Russia, originally released in 1977 on Sire Records. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched the matrix numbers SR-1 WW1/ SR-2, followed by "Sterling" then what appears to be a tipped over martini glass. This "glass" actually represents a Winchester rifle. These dead wax etchings indicate that an early stamper was used to make this first edition, mastered at Sterling Sound, N.Y.C and pressed at Capitol Record's Winchester, Virginia plant. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering producing superior sound quality, sought after by collectors and music lovers throughout the world. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve or insert with this listing. The cover is graded as Excellent because of slight ring wear and shelf rubs. The spine is graded as Excellent with color loss from two tiny stress cracks. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint and play-graded as Near Mint. It's been played on only Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life yet. This is the best copy of this record that I've ever heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in this condition. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
