Randy Rhoads - The Earliest Sessions (1980's fan release) vintage. Photos are of the actual album in the auction. Here are the facts about this album: The first three tracks are from the Quiet Riot locally released single on the Magic Wand Records EP. Suicide Show was the A side and the B side had Just How You Want It and West Coast Tryouts. Don't You Want It Back and all the side two tracks were unreleased studio recordings. I believe the Manfred Mann song, Quinn the Eskimo (Mighty Quinn), was an outtake from Quiet Riot 1.
The songs listed as Violet Fox have nothing to do with Randy at all. Randy and Kelli had called a band of theirs that for about a week and it never went anywhere. The band here just happened to have the same name and recorded some demos and someone plastered them all over Randy fan records throughout the 80's.
The last song listed as being by Violet Fox, Mr. Cruel, is actually titled Mr. Cool and was by a little band called Circus Circus and also had nothing to do with Randy. However, Curcus Circus did feature Blackie Lawless and Randy Piper in a pre-WASP incarnation. They later recycled the music and changed the lyrics for The Last Command album renaming it Cries in the Night. It's still a great song anyway. However you look at it, the real Randy tracks here are a great example of Randy's early and rare Quiet Riot recordings, with the Circus Circus track being a nice bonus here, and this record is still a very desirable and very super rare early Randy Rhoads fan release.
Now for the disclaimer: Fan released records were usually of mediocre quality most of the time. I haven't listened to this copy for about 25 years and I don't remember the quality of it. For what it is, it's condition should be rather good. That said, I don't grade vinyl and trying to remember a recording from that long ago is useless. I also don't have my turntable installed now to check records. I am not a vinyl expert with a perfect collection, just a long time music fan who takes care of my things. Most of my LPs were listened to, enjoyed often and cared well for. So unless I state an item as being unplayed, it may not be in perfect condition. I bought a majority of my music used and they stayed in the condition I purchased them in. If I see any flaws I will do my best to photograph them. I keep the pictures at a high resolution so you can zoom in pretty well on the covers and such, so please look carefully at the photos. I do have pets and occasionally there is a piece of hair that gets on things, especially on vinyl where static happens, but I do my best to avoid that. All LP and CD sales are as:is.
