Description
Red label with black text, "POLYDOR" in white. 6 tracks, original. Notes on the back cover in English by Weston with details on production and content. Leader, Randy Weston, piano, grunts; Niles Weston, conga; Reebop Kwaku Baah, conga, chants, cowbells; Henri Texier, bass; Art Taylor, drums. Includes a chorus. Arrangements by Weston. Recorded in Paris in 1969. Rare.
Cover: VG+ Intact and clean. Soft, European jacket. Very light aging on the back cover. Original price sticker on the back cover.
Record: VG+ to VG++ Visually shows no wear. 3 faint, surface rub marks on Side A. These are barely visible and do not affect the sound. The record appears to have been played only 1 or 2 times with care. On Side A, slight groove noise and 2 or 3 light clicks at the end of the Side. Because of the percussive content of record, noise is barely audible. There is no distinct Track separation on the 2 Tracks listed on the back cover on Side A. On Side B, light groove noise after 1/4 of Track 1. The noise is light and intermittent, more audible towards the end of the Track. This noise continues through approximately 1/4 of Track 2. The light noise is intermittent on the balance of the Track. Possibly slight noise on Track 3 (Gillespie's "Con Alma") but less audible due to the percussive content. The same condition occurs on Track 4 with some more audible groove noise on the last revolution. The noise I have detailed appears to be in the pressing. The music can be heard clearly throughout. I have adjusted the rating to take into consideration the noise detailed above. Audibly checked.
