Up for auction, Rare 1913 Ellen Beach Yaw Edison Diamond Disc The Skylark.
Diamond disc is untested, it comes from a large music collection of records, and memorabilia.
From what I have read, this is an extremely rare Diamond Disc. The Edison Diamond Disc, of her vocal composition, "The Skylark," has always been a prized find for record collectors, as she does indeed trill on 3rds and 5ths...and the song ends with the highest note ever recorded during the acoustic-record days....prior to 1925.
Visually, it appears to be in very good condition, does not look as if it has been played very often. There is some flaking on the edge of the record, where there are no music grooves. It appears to be in very good playable condition.

Background on Ellen Beach Yaw
An American coloratura soprano, known for her concert career. She was famous for her vocal abilities, extraordinary vocal range and ability to produce unusually high notes.
Known as "Lark Ellen" or "The California Nightingale," she was the only known soprano of her era who could sing and sustain the D above high D. She was also able to trill in major thirds or fifths!
This collectible will be packed carefully with tissue and cardboard and be secured and padded with bubble wrap in an appropriately sized box.
