Description

Rare RCA Victor Broadcast Transcription, for a weekly broadcast program advertising RCA Victor's new records and radios. Based on some releases, this would date from the later months of 1931 Featuring some great Victor artists of the period, an announcer introduces the program, and introduces parts of each new record for this week: Rudy Vallee & Orch. perform "This Is The Missus" - as he does in the new George White's Scandals. Arden & Ohman Orchestra do "You're My Everything" London Mayfair Dance Orchestra _ all the way from England - play "Lady Of Spain" Rosa Ponselle sings a selection from Verdi's Aida - at this point the announcer does a short commercial for the RCA Victor Super Heterodyne radio. . . Next, follows "Black Eyes" by the Victor Salon Orchestra. . . Russ Columbo is introduced as a "colorful young artist", and Columbo sings "Time On My Hands". . . Next, Ted Weems Orchestra does "Nobody's Baby Is Somebody's Baby Now" . . the announcer closes the program, advising listeners to tune in next week for another program in this series. . . This program is Program No. R-4, and is a 12-inch one-sided transcription, pressed in semi-flexible Victrolac. Condition is Excellent, with fine recorded sound. A bit of "crackle" is heard in some spots, but does not take away from the broadcast. PLEASE NOTE: Another different program in this series is also being offered within this week's offerings. . . along with about a dozen 1930's Associated vertical transcriptions featuring jazz bands / dance orchestras. . . . . .
