Description

Rare RCA Victor Electrical Transcription featuring B.A Rolfe and His Terraplane Orchestra. . . Program for the Hudson Motor Car Company, makers of The Hudson Terraplane automobile. Matrix number M 76663 -1 recorded ca. July 1933 16-inch one-sided transcription. . . Program No. 2. . . blank reverse has large RCA Victor embossed logo. Program starts with vocal quartette "Men About Town" briefly singing theme, "Cheer Up". . . Orchestra then plays two separate instrumental selections: "Rise 'N Shine" and "Hey Young Fella". . . great large-sounding orchestra -peppy numbers . . . Orch. and vocal quartette do novelty number, "The Yes Men On Parade" . . . Orchestra then plays "There's A Cabin In The Pines" with featured vocalist Jack Parker singing the vocal. . . There are several periods of silence between numbers. . probably to allow local commercials to be announced. . . Orchestra closes with a Sousa March, followed by the quartet briefly singing "Cheer Up" at end. . . Condition is Excellent, and plays great ! These Victrolac semi-flexible transcriptions occasionally gather what I call an accumulated "gunk" in the grooves, which usually gets cleaned out during a playing. . . some ET collectors may be familiar with this, but I mention it nevertheless. ("Victrolac" was used for non-commercial pressings starting during 1930-1931 and was often used on movie discs and transcriptions.) NOTE: I will also be listing ANOTHER 1933 B.A. Rolfe transcription among this week's offerings. . either today or tomorrow. . . so take a look. . . Media Mail is $8.50, and not any lesser amount that might erroneously appear within this listing. Postage extra outside U.S., Europe is $55.00
