Description

Up for auction is the rare 1957 US original Jazz self titled LP by Blossom Dearie on Verve Records #MG V-2037. This is the original US pressing and not a later reissue. Features musicians Ray Brown on bass, Herb Ellis on guitar and Jo Jones on drums accompyaning Blossom on piano and vocals. Visually graded using Goldmine standards, I would rate the vinyl as an Ex (borderline near mint) with beautiful shine and very light surface wear. The jacket is also excellent/near mint with no splits and very light ring wear on the back cover. Overall a beautiful copy of this sought after record. Low starting bid and no reserve! Record will be shipped in a sturdy record mailer with LP outside the jacket in a protective sleeve.

Blossom Dearie is a studio album by Blossom Dearie. It was recorded in 1956 and released in 1957, and was her first recording for Verve Records.

This is Dearie's first American solo album. Already known for the group "Les Blue Stars" of France and their French version of "Lullaby of Birdland", Norman Granz personally invited her to record for Verve Records.
