One-of-a-Kind Northern Soul Collectors’ Treasure

Up for auction is a truly one-of-a-kind Northern Soul collection featuring original and rare memorabilia from The Epitome of Sound, a group whose track You Don’t Love Me became a Northern Soul anthem at Wigan Casino and ranks No. 7 on the Northern Soul Top 500.

This unique lot includes:

1. Original 1967 Sandbag Records 45 RPM Vinyl

Featuring the classic Northern Soul tracks:

  • A-side: You Don’t Love Me (2:53)
  • B-side: Where Were You (2:25)

Pressed by Sandbag Records (S 101), this rare record was produced by Robert Paladino and arranged by Tony Camillo. Both tracks are original pressings that made waves in the soul music scene of the late ’60s.

2. One-Sided Acetate Demo

Included is an extremely rare acetate demo of You Don’t Love Me, featuring an extended guitar intro version. This intro was cut short in the SandBag Records release version.  This is a rare piece of music history.

3. Original Signed Management Contract

The original signed management contract between Sandbag Records and The Epitome of Sound, signed by all original band members, is included. This historical document provides insight into the band’s journey with Sandbag Records and is a vital part of Northern Soul history.

Condition:

  • Vinyl Condition: This copy is in great condition. See photos for details.
  • Acetate Condition: The acetate has surface scratches, but is 100% playable.
  • Contract Condition: The contract is preserved in excellent vintage condition, with clear signatures from all band members.

Provenance:

This lot has been sourced from the remaining stock and archives of the now-defunct Sandbag Records. It’s a must-have for serious Northern Soul collectors and music historians alike.
