This is a rare 45 rpm record by Chicago based group The Sheppards featuring “Stubborn Heart” on one side and “How Do You Like It” on the other. The record was released in 1967 on the Mirwood label, number 5534 - this is a “promotional copy”, clearly marked on the labels.

The record is in near mint condition - I would call it mint, but it isn’t sealed. Excellent gloss and no scratching or wear. this is a fabulous copy that looks unplayed. It comes in a plain white sleeve, which I assume is the original sleeve - this record couldn't have been out of its sleeve and still in this type of mint condition.

The Sheppards were formed in Chicago in 1959 - their name was derived from their producer Bill Sheppard. They were an R&B group that drew on doo-wop influences that evolved into a soul sound during the 60s. The members were lead and bass Millard Edwards, lead and top tenor Murrie Eskridge, baritone Jimmy Allen, bass and fifth tenor James Dennis Isaac, second tenor O.C. Perkins and guitarist Kermit Chandler. They were picked up by Mirwood, a Los Angeles based record label that was founded in 1965 by ex-Vee Jay president Randy Wood. Mirwood specialized in soul music, with artists such as Jackie Lee, Bobby Garrett and the Olympics, and came to be associated with the Northern Soul sound.

I am now shipping to my US clients through USPS services. I am located in Canada but I now have a carrier service to bring my parcels directly across the border on Wednesdays to be shipped out of the USPS postal outlet in Champlain, N.Y. In addition to the actual shipping cost, I do charge a $3.00 handling fee to help offset the cost of this special US service and new packaging for this piece. Please note that even with the handling fee that it is less expensive and is a quicker service than using Canada Post.

Because eBay is now requiring TRS sellers to process within 24 hours, I would require your Paypal payment by Monday at 5:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

To my Canadian clients, I use Canada Post for shipping, as I am based in Canada - legally, I am not permitted to ship to you through the US, so do not rely on the US shipping calculator for costs.

To my International clients I can ship by either Canada Post or by USPS (in order to use USPS for intl. clients - the items must sell for under $200.00).
