Description
Folks, less than a year ago, a NM/NM copy sold for $978.00, and you can have one that sounds just as good for a tiny fraction of that, and also a piece of history--a very early copy listed on discogs as "the first UK pressing on a laminated cover." It is definitely the first pressing on the Track label, in December 1967. The LP has the run-out codes that match up with the discogs listing: Side A: 613002 A ? 2, Side B ditto with a B. The song titles can be seen in the photos of the labels.
In the interest of full disclosure, this is possibly the greatest LP ever made for listening to when you are stoned, because the music IS so very, very stoned. It can do weird but pleasurable things to your ears and brain. I don't know who mixed this but he or she did loopy, fadey, soaring things with the sound that The Who are famous for.
A friend is a Who fan kindly pointed out that the cover is suitable for framing, which might actually be mandatory if you have a retro psychedelic party room with a lava lamp, etc. and perhaps some safe, legal mood altering substance lying about. It is a VG only because the two top corners were bent and creased, but that detracts very little from the parody advertising photos. Some sellers would grade this a VG+ and maybe the vinyl as well, but we try our best to describe our records on the conservative side of Goldmine grading.
The vinyl has hairlines. We tested the most visible ones and heard no ticks at all. The poster is not included.
