Description

I have up for auction a Set of 2 records (Longer Playing 12" 78s) on the older type black and gold His Masters Voice label, probably back into the 1920s! They are performed by Symphony Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Albert Coates and selection is Moussorgsky's Boris Godounow: "Revolutionary Scene". The records are #D-1090 and #D-1091 with no other titles given on any sides. The first side is by the Orchestra (instrumental) and second side of the first record has soloists Halland-Bass and Gwynne-Tenor (w.orch). Second record, side one has soloists Gwynne, Halland, Mills(Bass also) and Kelsey(Baritone); other side of second record has the same four soloists with the addition of another Tenor-W.Widdop . The records are in very good plus to excellent condition, hardly any wear and scuffs or scratches are few, light and surface variety. Surfaces still fairly shiny and clean. Probably a rare pair, as I see very few of these older black and gold HMVs!
