Please have a close look at the pictures. I think the box is in pretty decent shape although certainly shows its age. The binding feels strong, although I wouldn't want to test this hypothesis! As you open up and page through the book, it feels sturdy. But more importantly,
-- the albums, yes the albums are in pretty good shape. I will be honest with you, I primarily collect LP's so am not totally familiar with all of the nuances of 78 collecting. These are in better condition than most 78's I come across. I do wash each side of my albums three times with a VPI and am very picky about about condition, so I will do my best to describe these.
All three albums have some gloss, most suffer from only very light, whispy hairline marks some have small scuffs here and there-- a couple of sides look very very clean! In order to see most of these scratches I need to be standing right under my cleaning lamp and looking at angle.
There are absolutely no big, deep scratches and an absolute minimum of little scratches. I did not run my finger nail across any of these albums to see if they were "feelable" because there is no way any of them are!
There is one tiny chip that effects may one third of the run-in groove on "Song of the Guerillas."
I do not have a sophisticated 78rpm set up so I cannot effectively play-grade these albums.
Maybe not the perfect box but you would be hard pressed to find a nicer set of these records.
These will be shipped double boxed, wrapped to survive World War 3.
