Up for auction is the hard to find Glam Rock self titled original by Halfnelson on Bearsville Records #BV 2048 from 1971. This is a white label promo original in beautiful condition. Visually graded using Goldmine standards, the vinyl rates a near mint with nice shine and extremely light surface wear. The jacket rates an excellent with minor surface wear and some light edge wear but no splits. Comes with the original liner notes in beautiful condition. A real beauty so don't miss this one!!!! Halfnelson (sometimes spelled Half Nelson) was an American rock band, which was a precursor to the more successful Sparks. Halfnelson was formed in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles in 1968 by brothers Ron(keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals), the first incarnation also including friend and electro-whizz Earle Mankey (guitar). Halfnelson was initially released on Bearsville Records in 1971. Shortly after the release of the album the group changed their name to 'Sparks'. The album was then re-released by Bearsville Records in 1972 as Sparks. The new version of the album featured new artwork that was simpler, displaying the group in more of a classic profile superimposed against a red brick pattern. The single to this reissue "Wonder Girl," became a minor regional hit in Alabama and appeared on the lower end of the Cashbox chart at #92.
