Description
Rare Single-sided 78 RPM ‘Unbreakable’ Nicole Master Record - 1905 - size 10" –
Signorina Emma Trentini (Grand Opera Soprano).
Nicole Master record label – No: 15639.
Side 1: 'Mi Chiamano Mimi’ (“La bohème” – Puccini).
Side 2: (There is no Side 2).
This is an early attempt at unbreakable record making (1905) –
a compressed cardboard core with a coating of celluloid,
Visually - the record looks very good - with no serious peripheral chips
or major scratches. It feels as if made of modern rigid plastic -
albeit the record is 110 years old!
The record does play well (no ticks, skips, or jumps) –
there is the odd crackle and background noise on this one but the music and the
beautiful soprano voice of Emma Trentini comes through very well.
The record is deemed very good condition (VG) and very collectible. It will be packaged
as if fragile shellac.
Grading used:
Mint: Not previously played
EX+: Very little (if any) groove wear and no scuffs or scratches. A near mint copy.
EX: Some minor groove wear and / or minor scuffs or scratches. An excellent copy.
VG: Some significant wear and some scuffs and / or scratches. A very playable copy.
Records with a condition less than above grading are simply not listed.
