Rare Gramophone & Typewriter - G & T - by Madame SARAH BERNHARDT 10-inch, One-sided G.C.-31171 .... Angel Logo on blank reverse
Recorded in Paris, ca. February 1903 Sarah Bernhardt's recitation of "La Samaritaine" by Edmond Rostand - Speaking in French Madame Bernhardt announces the recording This Record, over 120 years old, is in remarkably good condition. That said, it IS an early, primitive recording with inherent noises. There are a few pressing dents, but the record tracks fine, and for the most part the grooves generally appear to be E- or better... ... but don't expect great sound fidelity... it sounds somewhat "distant", especially the short announcement at beginning. I am uncertain of the actual R.P.M. speed for playback, but tend to think it is in the low 70's rpm (?) despite my listing as 78rpm Media Mail is $8.50 within the U.S. Postage extra outside of U.S., will be estimated and invoiced for England, Canada or Japan Please wait for my invoice before paying...
