"La Santeria" is a Cuban popular religion form, product of syncretism between ancient "Yoruba" rituals originating in Western Nigeria (Africa) and elements of Spanish Catholicism
In this series premiered on July 25th of 1963 by the National Folklore Group of Cuba in the "Mella" Theater in la Havana, recreates the atmosphere of our mythological traditions with the use of Cuban's songs and dances of ancient Yoruba origin. The entire life cycle of creation, motherhood, full life, disease and death, is represented with solemn and transcendent style.
