THE SMITHS The World Won't Listen Australian Rarer Reissue Edition 28-track Gatefold Double Album.
This "The World Won't Listen" album by The Smiths was reissued in Australia as a double-LP set combining all the tracks from their 2 most recent albums. The front is identical to that of the original single Australian LP. On the back, only a few minor changes were made in the catalogue number in the top right corner, and obviously in the track listing which now includes 28 titles and is printed in a similar pattern of alternating colours only instead of alternating colours and fonts. Interestingly, since this edition had to accommodate two records, the sleeve was changed to a gatefold one, opening on a black and white promo photo of the band in front of what appears to be a closed shop window. The first LP features the usual track listing while the second one contains all the added material. The inner sleeve for the first record is identical to the inner sleeve of the 1-LP edition except for the catalogue number which was corrected. The inner sleeve for the second record also comes with the same 'tough lad' artwork, but the lyrics are those of the bonus material and the credits were adapted to represent these extra songs. Inside these thick inner sleeves the records are also slipped inside thin anti-static ones. The labels are the same green and red ones as in the single LP edition, but the text layout was slightly modified. They add "Record 1" or "Record 2" at the top, See the photos as they are a part of the description.
