Description
This auction is for a rare 1960's BBC TRANSCRIPTION SERVICE DISC - (Double Sided)
SHERLOCK HOLMES - 5, The Empty House SHERLOCK HOLMES - 6, The Reigate Squires (Duration =
Catalogue No - CN 288 Matrix Numbers - 112586 / 112587
Expiry date originally said 30.9.69, but has had the 69 crossed out & has 72 written in blue pen.
Duration - 27 mins on one side / 25 mins & 52 Seconds the other side.
BBC Transcription discs were usually issued around 2 to 3 years prior to the expiry date, these discs were only ever produced in very limited numbers (usually somewhere between 50 - 100 copies only) & many of these would have been disposed / destroyed when they had expired, which now makes them scarce & hard to find.
This disc is in VG / VG+ condition, one side has a couple of small scratches, the other side is in good condition with very slight marks from being in & out of the sleeve, still plays nicely, I have tried to describe as best as possible.
