The Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane 1st Pressing with Rare Picture Sleeve

Stamper Numbers Side 1  7XCE 18415-1, Side 2  7XCE 18416-2

This record was purchased by me in 1967 when it was first issued. The first 250,000 issued came in flimsy picture sleeves which were printed on the same paper stock as the standard Parlophone sleeves.  The sleeve on this one is in good condition for its age and is still intact with no tears or splits.  It has however gained a few creases over the last 50 years

The record has some visible surface and spindle marks and a small scratch at the start of Penny Lane which produces a few clicks, and a further scuff mark which does not appear to affect the overall sound. Other than that there is the odd pop and crackle which is to be expected on a record of this age, but it sounds good and plays well with no skips or jumps.
