Description
Here we have a rare G&T 78rpm recording by VLADIMIR DE PACHMANN numbered GC 5566 which was labelled erroneously (110 years ago!) as the Chopin 'Octave' Sudy and Waltz No. 6 but which is actually the 'Butterfly' Etude op.25/09.
It dates from 1907 and the matrix number is 6001e.
All examples of this original 1907 issue have this same labelling error, which must have made De Pachmann (a wild eccentric) even more furious and distrustful of humanity.
The disc is remarkably clean, and plays loudly and clearly.
Please study the photographs for more details, I’m trying to be as honest as I can here.
The record in the photograph is the record you will get.
I have described the item to the best of my ability, and everything looks in pretty good condition to me, but please check the photographs to decide for yourself.
I am not a dealer. I am just an old bloke thinning out his record collection before the floor collapses.
I’m probably selling most of these discs for less than they cost me!
I apologise for the postage costs. I pack 78s VERY carefully, in cardboard “sandwiches” surrounded by polystyrene peanuts etc. The resulting parcels, though very secure, are quite expensive to post.
