Description
An exceptionally rare opportunity to purchase what I believe must be Mike Cooper's first record release,a 4 track EP entitled "Up The Country Blues",released in1968 on Saydisc Records-SD137.
According to the sleeve notes Mike was asked to join the Rolling Stones,but turned them down and co-founded the Blues Committee with Paul Manning.In their home town of Reading,they played alongside visiting American legends such as John Lee Hooker.Howlin Wolf and Jimmy Reed.
On this recording, Mike performs 4 accoustic country blues tracks: The Way I Feel, One Time Blues, Send Me to the 'lectric Chair,A Few Short Lines.
The condition of the sleeve I would describe as "excellent" but as the sleeve is made from white card there is minor fading due to its age and also a small stain towards the bottom left corner.
Visually, I would describe the record as "excellent", but there is minor surface noise throughout the recording which can only be attributed to its accoustic nature and the fact that this was a privately made recording in a small Bristol studio.In my opinion,this only adds to the authenticity of the cut.
