The music on this ten inch Savoy disc is important. These songs, recorded from 1945 to 1948, blazed new trails in the world of jazz. New tunes, new rhythms, new connections ... a whole new way of looking at and performing music. It was a true revolution.

This ten inch 331/3 disc, a French distribution of a Savoy record under the aegis of Ducretet - Thomson, contains reissues of seven songs (two of them with two different versions) recorded for Savoy. They represent some of the first commercial recordings done by Charlie Parker, and mark his initiation as a session leader ( Charlie Parker's Reboppers ... not stated on the liner notes, which are in French ). The recording sessions are now considered as important historical milestones in Jazz history. All of the songs were originally recorded for 78 RPM.

Of special note for this album is the inclusion of two recording sessions not included on either the Charlie Parker Discography compiled by the Jazz Discography Project; or the recording session history called Charlie Parker Sessionography. These are the April and June sessions of 1948 ( see notes under picture of disc label above).

Here is a fabulous chance to acquire what is an extremely rare album. We have found no reference to this disc on line, or otherwise.
