Description



This is an exceptionally rare Calypso 45 single by Prince Valiant. Valiant sings "Don't Spoil this Country" and "My Rosalie". This 45 comes all the way from Barbados where it was recorded around 1970. The accompaniment was arranged by the Art DeCoteau Orchestra (who also has a phenomenal afro-funk breaks LP). Listen to both sides of the 45 in the audio clip for sample.

Record - VG.  Visually quite scuffy, but play grades through at VG -- listen to the sample!
Labels - VG.  Stamp over A-Side label and tear on B-Side label -- see pictures.

Very hard find for the Afro-Caribbean enthusiast/Calypso collector.

Note: The audio samples were recorded through a Crosley turntable into an input jack on my laptop. In other words, the recordings sound very compressed and are themselves of very poor quality. But, they are good for sampling the item's condition/play grade. Live playback through a decent sound system will sound drastically better.
