Rare Chocolate Watchband - One Step Beyond, WLP Promo LP NM Original

Welcome to Psych & Pstuff for another round of Exc condition super rare LPs. We have about 12 to list and some are still sealed. Check at the bottom to what LPs will be listed by Thursday. I want to take a moment to thank all my previous customers. I am happy to know these LPs are going to people who really appreciate what they are. Some of these LPs are becoming so hard to find owner's are not selling them any longer.

All three of the original Watchband's albums are rare and highly sought. The first two Now Way Out and Inner Mystique were produced by Ed Cobb and were straight psych LPs. But Cobb was no stranger using studio musicians to fill in and in some cases replace the entire band, particularly on instrumentals. One Step Beyond was no exception. First of all Agular, the lead singer was gone from the lineup. This LP was not straight psych like the first two. It is still a good LP but this outing is more west coast acid rock. Studio musicians were also used on this LP, and even a rumor that Jerry Garcia was brought in to play because the band's guitarist was too stoned to play. My research cannot prove or disprove this fact. It is a fact that Jerry Miller from Moby Grape was brought in to play lead guitar on Devil's Motorcycle, while other musicians were brought in as well. Typical for an Ed Cobb production. Who also produced The Standells. All that said One Step Beyond is another good release for the band, though a bit different. It sounds more like a mixture of many Frisco bands at the time like The Grape, Airplane, Dead, etc...  Still a must have for the Watchband fan. This is a while label promo in NM shape.

LP is very clean and sounds fantastic, no noise, good enough for anyone's ear.  LP is clean. NM

Cover - The cover has a promo stamp on the back. There are no seam splits, the spine is perfect. The reason it is marked as EX is because of a bit of ring wear starting on the bottom of the back cover.  

Label - Both labels have "Promotional Not For Sale" on them. The labels are clean as well but side one does have a previous owner stamp on it as you can see in the photo.

Prices are derived from past sales on Ebay, via Ebay, Popsike and Collector frenzy.  I also wanted to mention that my VG+ ratings are still nice playable LPs. There may be a few ticks or static between songs but still a very nice listen. The cover may also show a bit more wear or have a small seam opening, but still looks nice and clean. Since record grading is so subjectible to the sellers opinion, I wanted to give you my VG+ grading and what goes into calling it VG+. Thank you.

My grading system is M(only used on sealed LPs), NM, EX, VG+, VG, VG- and Good. LPs rated good will only be sold if they are very rare. I have been collecting and grading LPs for nearly 5 decades. I was a seller of guitars for many years on Ebay and now decided to put some of my LP collection up for sale. I have many Psych, Hard Rock, Blues, Jazz, Prog and more from the 1960s and 1970s. Many are still sealed. I will offer auction style and Buy It Now listings.

Shipping - I will ship media mail to anywhere in the US for $5.00 I will also offer Priority shipping for $12.00. I ship in LP mailers with the LPs outside of the sleeve to avoid seam splits. Sealed LPs will not be opened. I will also ship to Europe and Japan via USPS international First Class mail for $25 for the first LP. I will combine shipping. I will ship within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment.
