Up for auction is this complete set entitled, Franklin Mint's "The 100 Greatest Recordings of All Time." This is a fabulous collection of the world's greatest classical music all performed by some of the greatest orchestras in the world. This collection was offered exclusively in 1978 to it’s members and is from my mother's collection. There are a total of 50 2-album sets. Each piece is a beautifully bound hardcover book-style case, lettering in gold filigree style on front cover and spine. Each album set contains 2 LP Records that are enclosed in protective molded vinyl inner cases. Inside each piece you will also find biographies, photographs and information about the conductor, composer, artist and the music. The story section is printed on a parchment like paper that is bound into the hardcover jacket much like a book. All 100 records contained in this collection are in mint condition, not a scratch on any of them. The beautifully bound covers are in various jewel tones, in excellent condition with only slight yellowing from age around the parchment story pages.(Personally I think that this adds to the character of the piece.) This beautiful one-owner set is guaranteed to please the most discriminating collector. These albums will be packed and shipped with the utmost care.
