ITEM DESCRIPTION 
This is a no-reserve 7 day auction for the now seldom seen original official NOT FOR SALE 1980 RCA US pressing of a radio interview in which David Bowie discusses the songs on his then new album "Scary Monsters". 
This white label LP was later counterfeited. Please note this is the original official RCA LP, not the later counterfeit, with original factory machine stamped matrix.
The LOT also includes a 9x6" (approximately 23cm x 15cm) colour Ashes To Ashes theme press photo originally printed in the US on Fuji Supreme paper. 
BIOGRAPHY
This DJ Copy/Not For Sale promotional album has a single-colour purple jacket and inner sleeve with "guide script for the David Bowie interview" including suggested DJ intros, and black on white promotional labels. 
Pressed by RCA Records Pressing Plant, Indianapolis as identified by a stamped "I" in the runouts.
The front cover states this is "A radio interview album in which David discusses the songs on his new RCA release "Scary Monsters" - You are the interviewer".
The LP back cover and vinyl labels provide track by track answers to questions about each song on the then new "Scary Monsters" LP. 
The sequence of questions on this interview record follows the sequence of songs on the actual LP.

The cover artwork of Scary Monsters is a large-scale collage by the artist Edward Bell featuring Bowie in a Pierrot costume designed by Natasha Korniloff and worn by Bowie in the "Ashes to Ashes" music video, along with photographs taken by the photographer Brian Duffy.

GRADING & CONDITION All round a very good+ LP sleeve, still strong with no separation, no graffiti or handwriting, but with some superficial rubs and a stain residue on the rear cover, bottom right corner. There is a small brown spot on the rear cover right hand margin also. Please refer to the many large photographs provided to reassure yourself of the exact condition of the sleeve before bidding.
The printed colour inner record bag is made of a heavier than usual stock paper and printed with the radio script notes along side an image of the "Scary Monsters" LP. It is in VG+ condition and has some light rubs, minor foxing and creases but is still in great shape and still looks quite original. 
The vinyl LP is still visually very lustrous, really glossy and highly original looking - with no visible signs of playing. 
I have never played the LP myself (ever) since acquiring it in early 1980's so I would visually grade the vinyl as NM/NM-
Both RCA white labels are still highly original, no visible spindle marks but the hole in Side 2 label looks a little rubbed around the edge, but it likely came from the factory in this same condition..
