White Label Rare Factory Sample  Decameron Prog Folk Unreleased LP  UK  White Label Rare Beyond The Days
I recently acquired a small selection of Factory Samples of a few LPs from around 1974 which all look virtually unplayed, this is one.
There was a rumour of a lost LP by Decameron. This is where the rumours are laid to rest. This is that elusive Decameron album that was recorded between the Dec 1974 and March 75 period recorded and intended for release on Mooncrest Records.
Named  Beyond The Days , and it was even given a catalogue number, Crest 28 ( that number was eventually was reallocated to Sandy Denny’s – The Original Sandy Denny LP )

Before it was released Decameron left Mooncrest and moved onto Transatlantic Records so Beyond the Days didn’t get beyond this 10 track white label with Mooncrest.

It seems likely because as the track listing for their 1st Transatlantic LP, Third Light is identical to this track listing much of the material/arrangment must have travelled to the new record label.

Like many factory samples from the time this  is in a simple fold over card sleeve, the front was designed by John Pashe of Gull Graphics, graphic designer & album sleeve artist, noted for his work with The Rolling Stones and the iconic 'Lips' logo.  This is the only image of this design I know of,  so unique as a design piece.

The inners are plain poly lined with details written on one side. The LP has plain white labels both sides, and seem virtually untouched.

CREST 28 A 1U tone and CREST 2B B 1U in the matrix
