Description

You are invited to bid on this rare early set of Walt Disney records, dating to 1938. This set of 3 shellac records in their original wallet, was produced to mark the release of the Disney film "Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs" in 1937. The records were produced in England by HMV (His Master's Voice), by permission of Walt Disney-Mickey Mouse Ltd. The tracks are 'exclusive recordings from the actual sound film'. The tracks are as follows: Record 1 - "With a Smile & a Song"/"Dig-a-dig-dig (Dwarfs'Working Song"/"Heigh Ho (Dwarfs' Marching Song)"; Record 2 - "Whistle While You Work"/"I'm Wishing (Snow White)"/"One Song (The Prince)"; Record 3 - "Dwarfs' Yodel Song"/"Someday My Prince Will Come". Each records has both of its colourful paper labels featuring a charming colour image of Snow White and the Dwarfs. The records play at 78 RPM.

The records come in their original fold-out card sleeve published by Chappell & Co Ltd. The front features an image of Snow White & the Dwarfs. The front of each compartment features more line images from the film along with details of what was happening in the film when each song was sung. The other side features the story of Snow White and dedication panel with a greeting from Snow White. When folded the sleeve measures 10" by 10.5". The sleeve is very attractive so even if you don't have a record player, this is just a nice decorative piece.

The records all appear to be in very good condition, but I do not have a record player so I haven't been able to test them. The sleeve is in good condition with some tape repairs to the hinges and edges.
