Artist: Rare Earth Title: Dreams/Answers Label/Number: Verve V6-5066 (SW-93318) (S) Jacket condition: EX Record condition: EX Notes: As noted, the cover is still in its original shrink wrap. There is a 3x6 section of the shrink missing on the top right of the front and there is a little wear along the opening and a couple of minor corner "dings", so I've graded it down just a little to EX. As noted, this is a Capitol Record Club issue of the LP. The labels carry the Capitol catalog number (SW-93318) while the cover has the Verve catalog number (V6-5066) on the front and back and the Capitol number on the spine. The labels are in nice condition with no flaws of note. The vinyl is bright and glossy and overall should grade at NM. However, it has a manufacturing defect on the first cut on both sides that creates a few "pops" for about the first 10 or so revolutions. I've graded the overall vinyl at EX as a result. Grading: Grading is usually only visual for VG+ or better items, although if time allows I may play to verify the quality of a pressing or just to hear the music. VG items are usually only listed if they are fairly hard-to-find items and are always play graded. Regardless of the grade, if I do play the LP, I note the results in the item description. I use Goldmine standards with Ebay's EX grade added for items NOT QUITE up to NM; but please read the notes above as I try to note anything that might influence the grading one way or another. I try to be conservative and grade as though I were buying the record and hope my feedback speaks well for my grading. Mono (M) or Stereo (S) is noted after catalog number. Don't hesitate to e-mail questions. Mailing and costs: Domestic shipping is via USPS, media mail with delivery confirmation. I ship in cardboard mailers made specifically for records with additional cardboard pads for added protection. Shipping and handling charges are a flat $4.00 for the first LP and $1.00 per additional LP. Overseas shipping on purchases under $100.00 may be sent by USPS First Class Mail International but I will upgrade at the buyer's request. Orders for more than $100.00 will need to be by Priority Mail International. This provides added protection for both the buyer and for me. The price will be the actual shipping costs plus $1.50 for the mailer and pads noted above. I know that customs charges are problematic but, sorry to say, I cannot lower the value on the customs form below the purchase price.
I always mail in a poly sleeve with the record outside the jacket. If there's an original inner sleeve I also remove the record from that and put it in a plain sleeve for mailing. That way, there are no seam splits on either the jacket or the sleeve due to any handling in the mail. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs for multiple purchases.
