In 1966, at the age of 19, he performed at the legendary Blue Note-His fellow musicians included Hank Mobley, Hal Singer, Richard Raux, and Philly Joe Jones-In 1974, Mion formed CORTEX---”Troupeau bleu”, recorded in july 75, is a real musical U.F.O, an unclassifiable record, a mixing of thousand flavours, one of the toughest, tightest fusion-funk sessions ever laid down on wax.
