Ultra Rare large ( 12") and thick Gramophone record to mark the anniversary of the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1913
A series of 9 gramophone records in unusually elaborate packaging and presentation for the benefit of the children's home in Ahlbeck/Usedom was issued to mark the anniversary of the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
The artistically embossed records had a raised relief of the emperor in the center. As the hole for the holding pin was missing there, an extra holding plate was supplied as an adapter. The packaging was usually a round cardboard box, but square boxes are also known.The holding plate is offered here as well.
According to the Deutsche Grammophon catalog there were 8 editions available for 8 marks in the summer of 1913.The record here offered is rendition of: Paul Knüpfer, Prussian Chamber Singer Chamber Singer “ Prince Eugene, the noble knight. Ballad by Ferdinand Freiligrath. Music by Carl Loewe”
