Description
Here for sale is a very rare 10" double-sided acetate. I have no idea of its age or origins but based on the singers recording history it would probably date back to the 1950's. The record label states Stan's Record Centre, 5 Denmark Street Bristol. i assume this is where it was recorded.
The acetate features two sides of music from Tom Lehrer an American singer-songwriter, satirist, pianist, and mathematician, born on April 9, 1928 in Manhattan, NY. Lehrer's style was greatly influenced by musical theatre, but he often incorporated other musical styles to make a point. Lyrically, his humor was dark and witty, which was unusual for the novelty, comedic, and satirical music produced in the 50s and 60s. 
The other side features the words Microgroove it is thought that this is the type of recording so it was recorded with a full frequency range.
The generic cover is split as the sellotape has dried out over the years but the vi9nyl is in good shape with minimal hairlines but it needs a good clean. There is one nick out of the leading edge of the 10" but this is strictly superficial and will not affect play.
