Description

This acetate is from Johnnie Pate's personal collection. I bought it a few years ago along with several more acetates and commercial 78's from a dealer who did a clean out of his house of things that were left behind when he moved to Las Vegas from Chicago Heights. Pate is a legendary producer, arranger and musician who has worked with many of the top names in jazz, soul and blues. Check out some of his credits on discogs.
The recording of Perdido features Claude Jones on piano and Johnnie Pate bass. The reverse side is a recording of the audio from a TV broadcast that featured Eddie South on violin playing Johnny Pate's composition Minoration.
