Description
Very cool, limited edition box set of John Cale's minimalist recordings from '64-'69 -- solo and with Velvet Underground partners Sterling Morrison, Angus MacLise(!) and Tony Conrad. An amazing collection of viloa scraping, electronica, and even some hard-rocking stuff with Sterling. The box, titled "John Cale - New York in the 1960's" is on the ultra-cool Table of Elements label (No label # on box). This five LP box set is a VERY limited edition release on vinyl, and looks to be made up of TOE CD's 46, 47, 75, 79, and 80. The LP's are, appropriately enough, housed in a minimalist black wood box. Includes the original shrink wrap w/the sticker and bar code and with reviews calling it "the best release of 2001." Also includes the libretto and everything else that was included in the original release (i.e., nothing's been lost). Records are mint -- played just once on a high end turntable. Box is a strong VG++ -- it's hard to grade a wooden box, but it is in excellent condition. Opening bid is only $19.99 and there's NO RESERVE!
