Hard-to-find UK issue of the original film soundtrack LP to 'Lassiter' (1984, dir. Roger Young), composed and conducted by Ken Thorne.
The movie starred Tom Selleck, Lauren Hutton, Jane Seymour, Bob Hoskins, Ed Lauter and Joe Regalbuto.

Vinyl – EX. Very clean on visual inspection. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is superb throughout. No skipping, jumping or skipping. One minor blemish on side B, track 6 (see photo 12).    
Outer Sleeve (Cover) – EX. Colours are unfaded and no tears on the sleeve. Some very light short creases in from some edges, as well as minor corner nicks. Small residue mark on top right of front. Light disc showthrough outline. Rear side is clean and undamaged.
Inner Sleeve – EX. Original. Clear plastic. Minor creasing/folding but intact.

Review:
Solid score to the 1984 film by Ken Thorne. Beautiful cover art to this album just before everything went photographic in the later 1980s. This is the UK release with the better cover artwork than other releases out there.

Ken Thorne pours on the jazzy sophistication for Tom Selleck’s dashing jewel thief, who broke into safes and hearts for this terrific period caper flick that’s at least getting some soundtrack recognition.

If England had a composer who could match the jazzy sophistication of America’s Henry Mancini, then it would be Ken Thorne (best known here for adapting John Williams’ music for SUPERMAN II and III).

From HELP to ARABIAN ADVENTURE, Thorne had a flair for light-hearted suspense.

And LASSITER might just be the jewel in the composer’s crown, as the former 40’s big band pianist mixed ragtime swing with Nazi-busting danger and lush romance.

But what truly makes LASSITER sparkle is its beautiful main theme, whose piano melody reveals an unexpected poignancy for an emotionally impervious robber, a guy resigned to the illegal, elegant life.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
