Now here is yet another rarity that we are offering, and one of several historical items of Black America that we are showcasing this week. This ultra scarce LP was pressed in 1958 and was written and narrated by Langston Hughes. In addition, the actual voices of Ralph Bunche and Mary McLeod Bethune are featured, recorded special for this record. Singers include Leon Bibb, Clark Morgan, Hilda Haynes, Clayton Corbin, and The George McClain Chorale.

This historical spoken word treasury features bits on Phyllis Wheatley, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglas (Spelled DOUGLAS), Walt Whitman, (Spelled WHALT!!!), Booker T. Washington, George Washington Carver, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, NAACP Founding, and MORE!!! Tom Feelings designed the amazing cover art!

This gem is from 1959, and is an old Beaverton School library discard from Folkways Records, # FC 7752. The album jacket has a protective library sleeve, and the usual ex library markings, but minor age wear otherwise. The rare record itself has only minimal play wear. WONDERFUL!
