DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS >>> This is DECCA Records Album No. A-355. All the recordings in this 4 record set are listed below and were performed and recorded by Miguelito Valdes with Machito and his Afro Cubans. The inside of the front cover has a few notes on the album set. The inside of the back cover has some promotional records listed from the same time period as this record set. CONDITION OF ITEMS >>> The overall condition of all the records is excellent for their age, although as you can see in the pictures above there are a few noticeable scattered smudges, scratches, spots and/or stains. The record labels are all in very good condition for their age with only signs of wear that are due to aging. The cardboard record cover has the expected wear and discoloration due to the normal process of aging, use, storage and the movement of the set from place to place. The wear is mostly noticeable on the corners and/or edges. Having said that please note the above average wear that this record set has which I have tried to show in the pictures above. The lower right corner of the front cover and the lower left corner of the back cover has above average wear. I believe this is water and/or humidity damage. These areas have also affected the same area on the inside of the record set. The paper on the inside of the front cover is only half glued on to the cardboard. The black outer mesh type binding has wear scattered throughout. The binding on the inside is almost completely loose from the spine. It is literally hanging on by a thread on just the inside of the back cover. There are a few rust stains from the staples that hold the inner record sleeves together. The 4 separate record sleeves inside the cardboard cover are all in good condition for their age but not without a few problems of their own. The little flap that comes over the bottom and is then glued to the other side of the record sleeve to give it some extra support when storing the records is no longer glued on any of the sleeves. On the bright side, the records do not slide out. There is no unwanted writing anywhere. Please note, and I can't stress this point enough, that the record set has a really sharp musty odor due to it being stored in a basement for such a long period of time. It is mostly noticeable when the set is opened. If there is anything I have missed, or if I haven't answered your particular question or questions please feel free to e-mail me. Having said that, please consider insuring your package seriously. These records are very old and should be treated gently and with great care so that they do not break. I pack all my items safely and securely but please understand that once the package is out of my hands I have no control over its safety. I feel I should not be held responsible for a package that is beyond my control. The insurance will help you get the value back for your item. The post office will not reimburse you for damage unless they see the package as it was just after you discovered the potential damage.
