Description
Strata Records SRI-104-74 "Maulawi" LP. Rare sealed copy of this beautiful and sought after breakbeat album. Features the massive "Street Rap", which is basically 6+ minutes of heavy funk drums and fuzz bass, with black female voices and party noises on top. Other cuts topping many European and Japanese playlists include the modal workouts "Root In 7/4 Plus" and "Eltiton." Also features a spine tingling electric version of John Coltrane's "Naima." Has the much sought after Great Lakes area spiritual jazz / small studio vibe that so many listeners admire. Sonically speaking, in terms of both playing and production, this particular recording of these Chicago musicians has more in common with Harold McKinney's Tribe Records LP than it does with Lyman Woodards' famed Saturday Night Special LP, which the Strata imprint is most well known for. This album very rarely turns up, here's your chance to snag an extremely nice copy. Guaranteed original 70s album, not a re-issue or bootleg. Album is completely flat, still in shrink, and in beautiful condition. This album is rarely seen at all, let alone undisturbed! A truly nice copy. Shipping is $5 U.S. and Canada, and $14 worldwide. Insurance and Delivery Confirmation are extra. Please check my other auctions for more dance, disco, electronic, electro, soul and R&B 12"s and 45s that we'll be letting go this month.
