Description

NBC D-Day Private Recording Record Set
This is a very interesting set of records produced by NBC to commemorate the D-Day invasion of France during World War Two.   This was a private recording and not for public performance.  It was most likely something that was given to NBC sponsors or executives and was not available to the general public
A complete 40 minute program on this set of four 12 inch, 78 rpm records
The program is narrated by Arnold Moss
Printed on the inside of the album cover: “The records in this album contain excerpts from the announcements, commentary, speeches, and prayers which were recorded while they were being broadcast over the network by The National Broadcasting Company on the day the Allies invaded France, Tuesday, June 6, 1944. Out of those first twenty-four hours, here are forty minutes.  In so compressed a selection, many who spoke to NBC listeners during those crucial hours have been left out, others are heard only briefly.  But these fragments of D-Day, it is hoped, will at least help us not to forget the courage and sacrifice of the men who fought and died for us that day on the beaches of Normandy.”
Some of those heard on these broadcasts include H. V. Kaltenborn, Dwight Eisenhower, John Vandercook, King George VI, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Bob Hope & others
Cover is in very good to excellent condition with some light wear that is visible in the photos.  The records are in Excellent condition, a fine example of this set
