Rare 80 rpm Recording
NELSON EDDY ~ Rosalie (1937)
Instantaneous / Original Acetate
with Unknown Material on Flipside
~ 1937 ~
This 12" acetate disc is in Good Condition only. I have not played it. I've also made no attempt to clean it. Please examine photos as they're the main part of the grading & description. Buyer should consider that they may need a variable speed turntable to hear this at its proper recording speed of 80 rpm.
This appears to be an original, one-of-a-kind, "instantaneous" recording of Nelson Eddy singing the title song "Rosalie", from the picture of the same name, in May of 1937. The penciled notes include the words "Take 7" and "Scene 2011". The backside has unknown content that was recorded later in December of 1937. Recordings are on an acetate disc (an aluminum disc with a coating of nitrocellulose lacquer with acetone added to make a varnish). These acetate recordings are considered fragile and not meant for regular play.
Rosalie is a 1937 American musical film directed by W.S. Van Dyke and starring Eleanor Powell, Nelson Eddy and Frank Morgan.
Disc Measures 12 Inches.
In Good Condition Only: Shows Wear & Slight Waviness.
