MARSHA WELLS – STOP FOR JUST A SECOND / TAKE CARE OF MY LOVE – DCT RECORDERS 8” 45RPM ACETATE.
Condition: EX TO MINT-
Description: Northern Soul Acetate!! I’ve Researched This Oddity With Very Little Result. I Couldn’t Find Any Information On This Artist, Nor The Song Titles… Leading Me To Believe That This Acetate Maybe A ‘One Of A Kind’ (Unreleased / Unissued). This Particular Acetate Was From The ‘DCT Studio’ Located In ‘Hollywood, California’… Produced By ‘Dick Michaels’. Going By The Sound / Style Of This Recording, I Would Say That This Record Would Have Been Recorded Around 1966. I’m Unable To Post Sound On My Auctions, So I’m Going To Have To Describe This Little Dancer The Best I Can. “Stop For Just A Second” Is The Northern Soul Side… It’s A Up-Tempo Dancer (Not Frantic, It Flows Very Nicely) With A Slight ‘Girl Group’ Sound To It. Soulful Horns Almost Threw Out, Along With Some Nice Changes In The Music… Occasional Faint Backing Singers. I Played This Acetate To A Friend Of Mine Who Is Familiar With 60’s Soul Music… He Thought Her Voice Was Similar Sounding Too ‘Mary Love’… I Can See Where He Is Coming From, However I’m Guessing ‘Marsha Wells’ May Well Have Been White… Not Sure If ‘Mary Love’ Was Or Not? The Flip Side ‘Take Care Of My Love’ Is A Ballad. Almost Pristine Condition!! 100% Original Release!
