Sleeve: The front cover is VG / The front cover slick has some ring wear and general wear. The top & bottom edges of the slick are a little rough w/ some tiny light tears and bends. Has small corner dings, a tiny top right corner split, 3/4" and 1/2" splits at the bottom left corner and bottom of the spine. Has some light top seam wear. The bottom seam is split 8 1/2" on the right side. Has 1 3/4" split in the middle of the spine. The back cover shows some wear
Record: Retains decent gloss w/ a fair amount of light surface scuffs on Side A and less on Side B. I play graded this entire LP. Side A has a small scratch on Track 1 that causes some background ticks that do not overwhelm the muisc. The rest of Side A plays VG+ to VG++ w/ some light random background surface noise. Side B plays a little better VG++ w/ some light random background surface noise. / VPI cleaned
COMMENTS: Very rare original copy of this serious 60's Avant Garde classic on Amiri Baraka's Jihad label (which only released three LP's). This was Murray's first album as a leader and features the entire Albert Ayler Quartet - Don Cherry on trumpet, Albert Ayler on tenor, Henry Grimes and Louis Worrell on bass -- and LeRoi Jones [now Amiri Baraka]-recitation on last track.
