Description
Acid Test LP - Rare artifact dating back to inception of psychedelic era and cultural revolution that ensued. Good condition, only played a few times. Three superficial scratches on Side 2 as indicated in photo. Side 1 is near perfect. A few wrinkles on paste-on cover. Sleeve is original. Cover is in good condition with a little yellowing. 2" split at bottom. Top of cover is mostly separated.
This is the original release (1966) recorded at Sound City Productions in San Francisco.
From the Acid Archives: "Legendary documentation of the 1965-66 Bay Area Acid Test scene "from 14 hours of the actual trip" (recorded in a studio). Shows the other side of acid culture which is fun, unpredictable and avant garde, as opposed to Timothy Leary's solemn religious/psychological approach. Lots of amazing mind games and word association play with Ken Kesey and Ken Babbs in good form. Also features ad libbed poetry, fractured harmonica solos, tape loops and members of the Grateful Dead lurking in the background. Released in March 1966, just as the Pranksters were about to leave for Mexico.
