Description
Hi and welcome to my listing for this rare PINK FLOYD album. Firstly let me say i am not an expert or collector i just enjoy playing albums and am just steadily selling off some of my collection.
I would've bought this album back in the mid to late 70s and it is now as it was then I HAVE PLAYED IT THROUGH ( enjoyed it - very under rated album ) on my Ultra record player and it played through fine - the sound was strong no jumping just a few crackles but nothing to speak about please see below for my honest appraisal of the record and sleeve etc .............I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A 1ST PRESSING but again i am not an expert you guys will know more about it than me so PLEASE ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS TO VERIFY if you're not sure or there's anything i've missed in my description.
Please note - Pirate figure not included in sale ( just a bit of fun )
PINK FLOYD - A Saucerful of Secrets COLUMBIA label ( Blue and Black ) SX 6258 - MONO 1968 on record label it has "sold in the uk ........" text
MATRIX NUMBERS
Side 1 - XAX 3633 - 1 also has the letter M at the 3 o'clock position in the run-off Side 2 - XAX 3634 - 1 also has the letter A at the 3 o'clock position in the run off
RECORD CONDITION
Side 1 - very slight surface scratching - slight "scuffing" near the 1 on the label Side 2 - very light surface scratching - also a slight "scuff" on track 1 ( see photo ) but it plays through this fine.
overall i would say this is in good if not very good condition
INNER SLEEVE
EMI sleeve in very good overall condition ( see photos )
OUTTER SLEEVE
It is a flip back style sleeve with a laminated front. The front shows slight creasing showing where the record would sit in the sleeve. There is a tear on the top right hand corner of about 1" along the seam. The spine shows a bit of creasing. The rear of the sleeve has part of the flip back missing in the top right hand corner ( see photo ). The sleeve design and photos are by HIPGNOSIS and is printed by GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LTD.
overall i would say this is in good condition for its age.
I have listed postage as FREE and the record will be sent in a card board record sleeve with card insert - i will send it 1st Class Recorded or special delivery if you prefer just to make sure it gets to you quickly before Christmas if it's a gift.
The post is FREE to UK BIDDERS ONLY if there is any interest from abroad PLEASE CONTACT ME PRIOR TO MAKING AN OFFER so that we can discuss postage costs
