Description
Back to the Jazz collection, all in excellent shape or else i describe in detail. Still working the letter B, we come to...
Today a stack of Chet Baker albums, several of them valuable rarities:
And here's another--a beautiful VG++ or better copy of original black-labl Pacific Jazz PJ-1218 from 1956, called something like Chet Baker in Europe: A Jazz Tour of the NATO Countries, sessions recorded in Paris over the course of the quartet's seven-month tour. One side has the original four (Chet, hot young pianist Richard Twardzik, Jimmy Bond, and Peter Littman) on Rondette, Piece Caprice, Mid-Fort, Popm, Sad Walk, and The Girl from Greenland. Sadly, Twardzik died of an overdose early on, and for the next session months later it was Chet, Gerard Gustin, Bond, and Bert Dahl(ander) playing Summertime, You Go to My Head, Tenderly, Autumn in New York, and There's a Small Hotel.
Back liner notes are supposedly excerpts from a journal kept by Chet during the tour. Interesting reading whether his words or not.
This album lists for up to $125 in Jazz price guides.
