Description

Rare original 1st Portuguese pressing of the iconic Pink Floyd prog rock masterpiece “Dark Side Of The Moon” from 1973


Unusual rough textured labels which have a new design seeming overprinted over the original 1st UK solid prism design (the original lettering can be seen around the edges). Labels also state both made in UK and made in Portugal (although this was made in Portugal) which is likely a result of the over print design.


Matrix numbers:

Side 1 - SHVL-804-A-1

Side 2 - SHVL-804-B-1


The vinyl visually grades VG+ with a few fine non feelable scuffs and marks. It plays very well with a few light crackles in a few quiet sections only. Mostly lovely clear audio. Play grade is closer to EX and a very nice sounding pressing.


The gatefold sleeve is VG+. It has been previously re-glued and is a little misaligned but closes close to flat. Could be reopened carefully with a razor blade and re-glued properly. A little rubbing from storage and when held to the light, a few glue marks presumably from the slightly imperfect attempt to re-glue the seams.


This version wasn’t issued with posters or stickers.


Overall this is a very decent (but not perfect) listening copy of this iconic album, and a very rare original edition.
