Description
It's always a problem grading these lovely old SKA records.
They went to lots of parties.
That means that they're a bit battered and that's why many have names written on the label.
HOWEVER... they're usually cut VERY LOUD and though they look a bit rough, they sound OK (especially if you press the "Mono" button).
This means that a 60's Ska goodie can be perfectly acceptable, even if it looks R.A.A.B.B. (Rough As A Bear's Bottom)..
Please “bear” that in mind when reading my descriptions.
Here we have a GREAT Reggae double-sider. It's "Frying Pan" by The Slickers and "Code It" by Ranfold Williams, on the prestigious "Blue Cat" label.
It dates from 1969 and the number is BS154.
It is remarkably clean and tidy for a Reggae record of this vintage.
Both sides are as clean as the proverbial referee's wind instrument and play beautifully.
The A side has a very few tiny marks and plays very well indeed.. I'd call it a very collectable VG+ or maybe even higher,
The B side has one taking-it-out-of-the-sleeve mark which is superficial and doesn't sound at all on my very good gear. Again, I'd grade it as more or less a VG+ or thereabouts.
You'll never see another. Fill your metaphorical boots.
I am not a dealer.
I am just a very old bloke thinning out his lifetime collection of STUFF before the floor collapses (or I do).
I'm selling most of this stuff for much less
than I paid for it.
What a great business plan (I don't think)!
I am certainly NOT INTERESTED IN PROFIT..
..and indeed, seldom make any!
What little profit I do make goes to help
a very splendid Wildlife Rescue Charity.
The item in the photograph is the item you will get.
I have described everything to the best of my ability, and it looks in excellent condition to me.
Please check the photographs to decide for yourself.
NO OVERSEAS bidders please.
And NO OVERSEAS bidders using UK addresses please.
I am a simple sort, and I want my buyers to be happy. If there is any kind of problem, I like to sort it out personally. I can’t do this if you’re thousands of miles away!
